While riding into work I began noticing the changing colors of the trees. I had obviously seen them before, but in the busyness of everyday I never actually took a moment to appreciate them. Robust blossoms of copper, gold and rose now occupied the once emerald colored leaves that were present just a few months ago. It made me think about my own life and all the changes I’ve been experiencing.
But it also reminded me of the power of origin. The trees leaves may be changing colors, and in some cases shedding from the tree altogether, but the trees DNA has not changed. No matter what color the leaves, the trees roots have not changed much at all.
Today, I find comfort in reminding myself, that just like the trees my life may be changing, morphing and transforming. But more importantly, no matter what the branches or leaves of my life display, the seed of destiny within me and the roots that I have sprout from have always and will continue to hold me up. I was built strong. I was built for change. I was built to weather the seasons. I was built to endure. And so were you. Take time to remind yourself who you are.
